Selection and Evaluation of Fire Related Scenarios in Multifunctional Buildings Considering Antagonistic Attacks

There is a challenge in designing fire safety systems in multi-functional buildings in response to antagonistic or terrorist attack. This paper develops a method for selecting and evaluating fire related scenarios, including antagonistic attack, in multi-functional buildings. The method provides guidance on how to determine assets needing protection, exposures, fire related scenarios, and evaluation of scenarios. The method also takes into account the inherent probability of failure and domino effects.
